Please Support These Organizations!

Next Level Youth, a New Jersey non-profit corporation, was founded in 2006 upon the principles of youth education and development. Their mission is “To create a brighter tomorrow by being mentors, advisors and examples to our children today and aid them with a skill set that includes youth education, sports and character building principles that will enable them to achieve their full potential.”

Next Level Youth has started a tutoring/mentoring program to support the children of the Hightstown East Windsor community. They meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Grace Norton Rogers School in Hightstown. Currently, they are working with children in grades 3 through 8, with a focus on homework completion, NJ ASK preparation, and general skill building. The program includes guest speakers, field trips and special projects.

If you’re a high school student, current/former teacher, teacher’s assistant, or someone who feels like they can make a positive contribution, please contact Next Level Youth to offer your services as a volunteer. A full-time commitment is not required. You can participate twice a week or twice a month -- they are very flexible. For more information, contact Eugene Lambert at (609) 672-1014, or stop by the school and join the group on any Tuesday or Thursday night.

Maternal Wings was launched by Claire Pavlinec after her children were born. Rather than disposing of her unneeded baby items, or making a few dollars by selling them at a garage sale, she set out to find mothers in need to donate her items. Claire had called some local clinics to see if they could use the items and found out that the need for these items was huge. In speaking with Robin Aniboli, Social Worker at Ocean Health Initiative, Claire saw how these items could make a great difference for mothers in need. Claire soon began collecting items from other moms she knew to donate to the clients of Ocean Health Initiative.

In seeing the many mothers and babies in need Claire and her dear friend Kerry Walsh started taking these efforts very seriously and “Maternal Wings” was born. Together Claire, Kerry and volunteers spend many hours every week collecting, sorting and delivering baby products to those most in need.

The program has expanded and they now serve clients at several clinics throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties as well as individual referrals from the community, pediatricians and the VNA.

They are proud to say that they help hundreds of local moms each year with the donations that they receive from the community. “It just makes sense to give these unwanted items to those less fortunate”, says Claire. Maternal Wings is growing and always seeking donations, volunteers and services to help them in their endeavors.  To make a donation, click here: http://www.maternalwings.com/drives.htm.
